First Night Akron / Welcome 2027

Bring something to the night.

Artists, volunteers and local partners have always helped make First Night Akron a shared celebration.

A community arts festival depends on people with different kinds of talent: a performance, a careful welcome, an accessible room, a local connection or a few well-organised hours of help.

Participation arrangements for the returning 2027 edition have not yet been published. The old applications in our archive are closed historical documents. Do not send personal information to the old addresses or assume an old deadline applies.

For artists and performers

Prepare a short description of your work, its likely audience, running time, space and technical needs. Include any access features you can provide and the kind of setting that would suit the work. A link to a public example is more useful than an unsolicited large attachment.

For volunteers

Consider when you could help, what tasks suit you and any access or scheduling needs. Historical volunteer handbooks show how past celebrations were organised, but their shift times, meeting points and requirements do not define the new edition.

For local partners

Think about the practical contribution you could make: space, equipment, expertise or support for a particular need. Current partnership terms and recognition will need their own agreement; a logo in an old program is not a claim of present sponsorship.

We will link confirmed participation routes from the 2027 page and contact page. In the meantime, the archive offers a detailed view of how the earlier festival worked.
