31 DEC 2026
First Night Akron returns on Thursday, December 31, 2026, to welcome 2027. The returning edition brings the festival’s arts-first, community-minded spirit into a new chapter.
What you can do now
- Add December 31 to your calendar. The calendar entry is an all-day reminder, not an event timetable.
- Build a personal preparation checklist for your group.
- Explore the history of First Night Akron and its music, dance, theater, visual art and hands-on activities.
- Check this page again before buying admission, making a reservation or choosing a venue.
A fresh program, a clear year
Our archive preserves earlier editions because they tell the story of the festival. A 2010 map or a 2016 artist listing is a historical document. It does not confirm a 2027 appearance, venue, ticket outlet or shuttle.
As arrangements are confirmed, this page will link to the current program, admission information, access details and visitor guidance. Until then, we will keep the distinction visible.
For families, neighbors and curious people
The original First Night format made New Year’s Eve a chance to discover art together: a performance you had never heard, a creative activity to try, a familiar downtown space seen differently. That shared curiosity is the starting point for the returning edition.
