Deadline Extended for Submission of First Night Akron 2013 Artist Proposals
Artists of all Disciplines Interested in Participating in First Night Akron on New Year’s Eve Encouraged to Submit Proposals - Deadline extended to Friday, July 20
Downtown Akron Partnership seeks local and regional artists to participate in First Night® Akron 2013 on Monday, December 31, 2012. Artist proposals for this family-friendly, alcohol-free celebration of the New Year through the arts are being accepted for all performing and visual arts, including, but not limited to: music, dance, theater, puppetry, film, visual art/ installation art, interactive/participatory activities, strolling entertainers, literary/storytelling/poetry activities and make and take activities.
First Night is an opportunity for artists of all disciplines to showcase their talent to the community. Between 13,000 and 18,000 members of the community attend First Night Akron in Downtown Akron each New Year’s Eve.
All performers are paid. Selection is based on artistic merit, quality of support materials, technical feasibility and availability of funds. Please note: Deadline for proposals is Friday, July 20, 2012.
Interested artists should download an application form, available at www.firstnightakron.org/artistproposals, and return the form by Friday, July 20, 2012 to: First Night Akron, Downtown Akron Partnership, Greystone Hall, 103 S. High St., 4th Floor, Akron, OH 44308.
