First Night Akron unveils button art for 19th annual New Year’s Eve celebration
The First Night Akron 2015 button artist, selected by a committee of past buttons artists, is Lawrence A. Walker, a graphic designer and artist. The button is worn by thousands of revelers for admission to 12 venues of entertainment on New Year’s Eve.
Calling all volunteers: Opportunities available for First Night® Akron 2015
Volunteers are a critical part of First Night Akron, the celebration that rings in the new year and showcases arts and entertainment to the community. More than 400 people are needed to greet guests, check admission buttons, introduce performers, assist with hands-on activities, track attendance and serve as bus hosts.
DAP's Community Outreach Program provides social service organizations First Night® Akron admission buttons
Local social service organizations have the opportunity to distribute free admission buttons for First Night® Akron to their low income, elderly and disabled clients. Now in its 19th year, Downtown Akron Partnership’s (DAP) Community Outreach Program provides a night of entertainment to residents who may not otherwise be able to afford a New Year’s Eve celebration.
